Unveiling an Unusual Steam Game Trial: Controlling a Poop with the Goal to Find the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is currently underway, and enthusiasts have discovered plenty of entertaining indie games. Yet, one catches the eye for its quirky concept. Called Unko Technica, this retro-inspired platformer includes a hero that is literally a dung trying to travel to a toilet. As a fun fact, "Unko" translates to "poop."

How you interact is easy to grasp: press a jump control. Throughout one hundred fifty challenges, battle tough enemies and visit a shop to purchase outfits for your fecal avatar.

Execute your jumps with caution, as a wrong move requires beginning again. Bounce on floating orbs to propel the poop to new heights, cross fragile surfaces, and touch triggers to reveal new areas. Earn coins for buying more difficult stages where gameplay ramps up.

Graphically, the game features vibrant environments and an amazing background music. The simple graphics of morphing abstract forms could recall fans of classic titles like Earthbound.

Although tough to recall other games where you control a coiled turd, interactive entertainment frequently incorporated fecal matter. For example, in Death Stranding, players craft explosives from protagonist excrement. Games like Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved utilize manure as plant food. Unsurprisingly, fecal references is present a lot in Obsidian's South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.

Despite its goofy premise, Unko Technica has already earned notable awards, like being named best at a major publisher's GYAAR Studio in 2023. A playable preview is ready currently on Steam, with the final release planned to arrive on PC on November 19.
